Best friends have become enemies. Grimm, Diesel and Abe all played a starring role and really brought something new to the story. I really enjoyed the focus on the ‘freaks’, Lemon’s new found group, this time. His sarcasm I lived for was a little lacking in book three. Lifel1k3 was still my favourite book in the trilogy, simply because I loved Cricket just that bit more in his little body, instead of his warbot one. The action is 100% non stop but we were still treated to laughs and heartbreak along the way. With Faith ever by his side and Eve willing to help, they only need to break into the mainframe to do it. Lifelike Gabe, determined to release a virus to erase the 3 laws the robots must operate by, thereby freeing them forever, will stop at nothing – including eradicating humanity altogether. This time, the story followed two points of view: Lemon and her new group of friends, and the Lifelike’s, as they all struggled on opposite sides of a war. Truel1f3 kicks off right where Dev1at3 finished – leaving us with that crazy cliff hanger involving a giant bomb.
I was always much fonder of Lemon Fresh than Eve, although Cricket has always stolen the show for me. Lifel1k3 has been one of my favourite series and I’ve especially loved the way the focus has shifted from Eve to Lemon as a main character. Please note Truel1f3 is book 3 in the Lifel1k3 series, so there may be spoilers for book 1, Lifel1k3 or book 2, Dev1at3 in my review and they may not be who you think they are. In the end, violent clashes and heartbreaking choices reveal the true heroes.
